Bombay at the Beach: Reviews & Ratings
Bekh was wonderful. He was warm and welcoming and helpful. The food was freshly made and delicious. We all enjoyed our dishes. They were generous portions as well. The menus states daily buffet but they only offer it on weekends. It’s an old home converted to a restaurant. It isn’t fancy but clean and homey. Water and plates/sikberware are self service. The food is 100% HALAL and one of the few in the city. Be sure to stop by. Full private lot near the beach.
Food taste delicious. Forgot to order sauce to put on the rice. It’s not yellow. Just white rice with seasoning however the food taste soo good. We got mixed grill and instead of fish in the mixed grill we added more meat. Also ordered chicken chili. Yum! The owner or hostess is sooo nice and very helpful. Great restaurant. We also order garlic naan. It came out to $54 plus tipped them bc they are awesome
Wow!! We were introduced to this place by a dear friend/faithful customer for over a decade, and now we know why he keeps going back to Bombay at the Beach! Mr. Bekah welcomed us warmly and brought us some appetizers - warm crispy papadam with dips, delicious thick samosas and pakoras, a mixed grill (tandoori meats and seafood) with a side of mango lassi. Everything was just incredible!! We had skipped breakfast so we definitely still had room for entrées. We opted for butter chicken, lamb curry, and chicken saag with garlic herbed naan. Good luck picking a favorite with this explosion of flavors on your taste buds!! You won’t forget it! I always love me some Indian food and Bombay at the Beach sure knows how to deliver! We then had a delicious dessert with rice pudding and gulab jamun. Mr. Bekah shared a little bit of his journey with us. It was very touching. He’s a quiet meek guy who recognizes his blessings and takes a lot of pride in working hard and making delicious meals for his customers to enjoy. Hop over there on a really empty stomach and enjoy an incredible meal!
Delicious all around. Even my picky grandma enjoyed her food. I’ve been a customer here since 2017 and all I can say is every visit here has been satisfying. Highly recommend the onion pakora and the biryani and the everything else. I can tell the owner of this restaurant is very passionate about the business and that the cooks are committed. Bonus points for sensory friendly lighting!
We stopped here for a late lunch and got in just before closing at 2:30 (they reopen for dinner in the evening). The buffet was ready for us and we loaded up on all sorts of delicious food. They had all the traditional Indian dishes including samosas, naan, and chicken and vegetarian options. Even dessert (rice pudding). Easy to access location too. We’ll surely come back!
After being disappointed the last 2 times with my go-to Indian restaurant, I decided to try Bombay at the Beach. We went in and the person working didn't say anything to us, but handed us menus and pointed to an area to sit. It took him a few minutes to take our order, and we had to get our own drinks and utensils, so that kinda caught me off guard along with not being greeted. Once he walked over to take our order I asked what he recommended, so we got that (spicy lamb curry) and I got samosa and the tandoori mix along with the chefs special naan. The samosas and chutneys were on point! The lamb curry was so so so good. The tandoori mix plate was lacking flavor, but the other food was so good I didn't care. I just asked for more chutneys to dip it in. The server didn't talk much, but he was nice. Also, you have to get your own to-go box and take your bill to the register to check out. Service wasn't what I'm used to, but it won't deter me from returning. I'm already looking forward to trying more food there! I hope next time is as good as this time. If so, this will be my new Indian go-to! Also, prices are fair for the most part but a can of soda will run you $2.75.
